Window Tint Care Instructions
Congratulations on your new window tint from Car Pretty! To make sure your tint cures perfectly and lasts for years, please follow these simple aftercare guidelines. Proper care in the first week makes all the difference.
The First 2-3 Days
Your tint needs time to cure and bond to the glass. During this period:
- Do NOT roll your windows down for 2-3 days (3-5 days in cold weather). This is the most important rule: rolling down uncured film can peel or shift it.
- Do NOT clean the inside of your windows for at least one week.
- Leave any small water bubbles alone — they’ll disappear on their own as the tint dries.
What's Completely Normal (Don't Worry!)
- Hazy or cloudy appearance — this is trapped moisture from installation and will clear up as it cures, usually within a few days to a week.
- Small water pockets or bubbles — these evaporate on their own. Do not poke or press them.
- A slightly milky look — normal during curing, especially in humid or cold weather.
If any bubbles or haziness remain after 1 week, give us a call — that’s what your warranty is for.
Cleaning Your Tinted Windows (After the First Week)
- Use a soft microfiber towel and an ammonia-free cleaner (ammonia damages tint and can cause purpling).
- Baby shampoo mixed with water works great, or any tint-safe glass cleaner, we recommend SprayWay.
- Never use paper towels, abrasive pads, or ammonia-based products (like most blue window cleaners).
- Gently wipe — don’t scrub at the edges.
