The next time you’re looking for a quality window tint installation, look no further than Car Pretty. If you’re like many of our customers, you likely have a lot of questions about the window tinting process. Our skilled technicians are happy to answer each one.
One of the first questions that our customers usually ask is: How long will it take for you to complete a window tinting job on my vehicle? At Car Pretty, we work efficiently and carefully. Most installation jobs typically take from about thirty minutes up to three hours. The total installation time depends on a variety of factors such as the number of windows being tinted, the intricacy of the design and the kind of vehicle. Many customers also want to know, especially if the wrap job is going to take over an hour, whether they should drop off their vehicle or wait at the shop. We usually suggest that you do whatever works best for your schedule. Our preference is for you to drop off your vehicle for the day, but if you decide to wait at the shop, our waiting room is accommodating, and has cable television and free WIFI.
Some of our customers have asked if we will travel to your home or office to complete your wrap project. Unfortunately, we do not travel because window tinting must be completed in a controlled environment to prevent dirt, dust and debris from collecting on the film. Another common question that we hear is about where the window tinting application actually appears. Automotive window tint is always applied to the glass on the inside of your vehicle. Some customers also like to know how to clean their windows after the tinting procedure. We recommend using a soft cloth and any regular cleaning solution, like Windex. You can also use ammonia products; however, it is not recommended for every day use.
After you have your tinting installation completed, we recommend keeping your windows rolled up for at least three days, but preferably five. We apply a “Do Not Roll down Windows” label to help you remember this important recommendation. Car Pretty recommends following the state window tinting laws, so if you have any questions about how dark you can tint your vehicle, we recommend you check out the Window Tinting Laws page. It will usually take about thirty days for the window film to dry completely, depending on the weather. Your windows might appear streaky and hazy until then, so don’t panic. This is part of the normal drying process. If you can, park your vehicle in the sunlight to speed up the dry time.
We have customers who like to know about the affect of vehicle tint on their defrosters, as well as more information about the tinting material. Luckily, since the window film insulates the glass, it will actually help clear the window of fog and frost quicker. The dot matrix on our window film is made out of a rough ceramic material raised from the glass service. The raised dot matrix pushes the window film away from the smooth glass surface causing air pockets between the glass and matrix.
Many customers like to know more about our warranty. Our warranty is what separates us from our competition. Car Pretty offers you a manufacturer’s lifetime warranty as well as a workmanship warranty. If determined that the film or installation is defective, we will replace it free of charge. Our warranty is also transferable which means that if you move to another part of the country, your local Suntek will repair your film. Furthermore, our window tinting film will not change color, and all of our films are backed by a color change warranty.
At Car Pretty, we recommend having aftermarket window film installed over your factory tint. Factory tint on trucks, vans, and SUV’s will do little for heat rejection or UV protection. It is essentially used for privacy. Our films will reduce the amount of heat in your vehicle and will reject 99% of the harmful UV rays. Our films are also made with a scratch resistant coating. However, the film can still be scratched from a seatbelt, ring or keys. Scratches and personal damages are not covered under the Lifetime Warranty.
Many customers like to know if window tinting film can be removed. It is possible to have it removed by a trained professional. Improper removal of the rear glass can result in damage to the defrosters. Several customers are also curious about computer cut window tint. Computer cut is the newest technology in the window film industry. We have a pattern database of mostly every vehicle on the road today. The information is then sent to a plotter which in turn cuts the film for a window cut that is specific to that vehicle. While not every pattern is perfect, we do hand cut the film if necessary.
Finally, many of our customers like to know why other window tinting companies charge less. There are a number of window tinting companies that open and close with frequency. The films they use are sub-par and can fail after only six months. Ask yourself a simple question: How many vehicles have you seen with purple, bubbly nasty looking tint jobs? Car Pretty only uses one of the finest films in the industry. We stand behind everything we do, and we offer a lifetime warranty.
