5 Questions to Ask When Choosing a Window Tint Installer
Questions help us understand the world around us.
Or, more exactly, the answers to those questions help us understand.
Unfortunately, coming up with the right questions, or any questions at all, can be somewhat of a challenge. Especially, if you’re at a total loss for information.
But not to worry.
Here are 5 questions to ask when choosing a car window installer.
Don’t be shy and ask before you buy your tints!
What percentage is allowed in my state?
If you know the answer already, this is a great way to test the installer on basic knowledge.
If you don’t know, this is a great way to check whether the installer doesn’t either.
You want an installer that is knowledgeable about the field of window tints. Because, you want someone who can advise you and offer the best options.
Not to mention, keep you straight within the law.
What materials do you use for your tint?
The answer better be “high quality” before you agree to buy anything from the installer.
Aside from that, it’s important to know what materials the window tints are actually made of. Typically, the higher quality tints are made from a thin ceramic film.
There are tons of tint manufacturers out there. Some good, and some not as good. So, ask what brand the installer uses and look up reviews online.
How much do you charge per tint?
Or: How much do you charge per set of tints?
If we’re being real- price is important. And, it makes a big impact in our decision to choose one tint over the other, or one tint installer over another.
It’s a good idea to set a budget for yourself in advance. Ask yourself, what’s the highest you’re willing to spend? Then set the bar a little lower. When talking face to face with salesmen, it’s easy to get influenced. But, if you set your high price just a tad lower, you’re giving yourself wiggle room just in case you fold under pressure.
This way, even if you go over budget- you’re still right on track.
And don’t forget to haggle!
What if my tints break?
What this question is essentially saying in the nicest of terms is “what are you going to do for me if my tints break. And, are you going to take responsibility?”
No matter how high-quality something is, there’s always the chance that it might break.
After all, accidents happen.
And when that accident happens, you want to be sure that your tint installer is going to help.
A responsible tint installer will offer some type of warranty for their tints or tint installation.
What technology do you use to cut and install?
There’s no use in picking a top-quality window tint just to have it installed incorrectly.
Even if there is a warranty.
Ask about what technology the installer uses to cut the tints precisely to your windows. How can the tint installer guarantee accuracy? Then ask about the installer’s method for adhering the tint film to the inside of your window.
A good installation job can truly make or break the whole window tint experience.
